Pro-Tech Forest Resources is an acknowledged leader in the field of forest health management.Since our inception in 1986, we have been heavily involved in all aspects of forest health management strategies, with a particular emphasis on bark beetle. Our services within this department include, but are not limited to:
Ø Overview Flight Surveys Ø Detection Surveys (Pine, Spruce, and Balsam Beetle) Ø Baiting Operation (design and implementation) Ø MSMA application	Ø Fall and Burn Ø Sanitation and Salvage operational development Ø Bark Beetle identification and detection training Ø Pest management plans
SUMMARY OF KEY FOREST HEALTH PROJECTS
Ø We have taken the initiative to develop a bark beetle training project, which translated into our developing the “accreditation process for the Prince Rupert Forest Region” Ø A multi-year, multi-phase forest health contract to identify, assess, and manage bark beetle within the Morice Forest District have been successfully completed in conjunction with another local contractor Ø We have completed multi-phase/year forest health contract with the Vanderhoof district, dealing with the Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic infestation Ø In response to a request from HFP, we have created a “Pest Management Operations Information Systems”(PMOIS), designed for the purpose of recording, reporting, and t racking beetle infestation, which is now implemented in the Morice and Bulkley Forest Districts
